Biographical Information

Dr. Brett Siegel joined the Department of Communication in the fall of 2022. He earned his PhD in Media Studies from the University of Texas, where he taught courses on narrative strategies, media design, and football media. His research focuses on sports media, communication, and culture, with a particular emphasis on the ways in which leading sports brands and their media partners navigate various public relations crises. You can find his work in the Journal of Sport and Social Issues, the International Journal of the History of Sport, the journal of Emerging Sport Studies, and the De Gruyter handbook of Communication and Sport.
