Mission & Description

The fully online Master of Arts in Communication at UCCS prepares you to excel in an array of careers, enabling graduates to reach diverse audiences to solve complex communication problems. Our program is all about personal growth and professional development.

We have a wide range of classes, and depending on your interests and career goals, you can choose classes in professional communication, emphasizing leadership, organizational, or strategic communication. Or you can select a focus in applied media studies. We help you customize the program to fit your aspirations and strengthen your professional writing, speaking, digital/multimedia communication skills.

  • Accelerated B.A. to Online M.A.

    The Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's degree program in Communication offers highly-qualified UCCS Communication majors the opportunity of pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication and Masters of Arts (MA) in Communication concurrently. The program allows for up to nine credit hours to be used for both the BA and MA. It is designed to be approximately a five-year program for currently enrolled UCCS Communication majors.

  • Application Process

    To be considered for Standard Admission to the M.A. Program in Communication, a student must first meet the general requirements outlined by the Graduate School at UCCS. All applications are evaluated by the Graduate Director.

    The Online Master of Arts (MA) in Communication at UCCS offers students the opportunity to engage in advanced study and develop graduate-level expertise for addressing complex communication problems in modern organizations and social systems. This flexible program prepares graduates for careers in the profit and nonprofit sectors, as well as in academia.
